Directorial debut for veteran actor Dustin Hoffman, Quartet is confidently produced and with brilliant performances from the best of Britain's old guard. Unfortantely, the screenplay is rather thin, with little exposition and a rather hurried finish. But the good gags and characterisations show that what little there is, is still likable.

QUARTET REVIEW
Directorial debut for veteran actor Dustin Hoffman, Quartet is confidently produced and with brilliant performances from the best of Britain's old guard. Unfortantely, the screenplay is rather thin, with little exposition and a rather hurried finish. But the good gags and characterisations show that what little there is, is still likable.
